December - all things Sparkly!

An exceptionally cold December - while some hated the weather cast upon us, you have to admit the snow did make it a perfect Christmas and created a wonderful landscape for photographers and artists out there - snow, snow and lots of snow!!!

Keeping in theme with the snow,Christmas and fashionable trends for interior design the Secret Gardens window display for this season was dressed to impress. In chic black  ivory and silver - a fabulous fire mantle display was formed from huge silk ivory and black poppies, very realistic ( and huge ) Arum lilies - fabulous sparkly black and silver foliage to set off the black and ivory roses.  To add to this traditional design but made contemporary with the trendy colours a table formation of three raised cubed designs sat in front of the fireplace  comprising of  sparkly black sisal, thorny black and sparkly twigs with silver and white baubles with a scattering of  high gloss table crystals.

The scene was complete with 3 very contemporary twists on the Christmas tree - 3 elongated cones in white topped off with a huge silver bauble, twin pedestal designs in keeping with the modern tone - comprising of twigs in white,black and silver, focal points of white roses and black foliage, huge silver baubles draped with silver threads - stunning.

November, November.........flowers that certainly cause fireworks!

Beautiful  l-o-n-g stemmed roses ( 80cm ) in stock for those romantics

out there - these blooms are stunning in the deepest deepest red and sure to please the love of your life!

Also available in store this week fabulous Strelitzia ( Bird of Paradise ) this showy stem does not come cheap - but then it is an exotic - this is easily compensated by the fact you only need a trio to display in a fantastic long neck vase and finish off with some seaonal curly salix which has a lovely tinge of orange to it - looks amazing when placed in your interior in a prominent position with added focal lighting.  These flowers are long lasting and therefore worth the extra expense, when looked after properly will last you a considerable time.

Spooky happenings at the Secret Garden this Halloween:

To celebrate the Halloween Season the Secret Garden

has joined in the fun by creating a window stopping display - depicting the Wicked Witch of the Wests living room - fabulous arrangements in silk comprising of amazing brightorange and Autumnal browns, given a glitzy twist of bronze and golds inbetween - a stunning 'cauldron' arrangement of Physalis

and Sunflowers sits in front of the fireplace  -from which hangs a
wicker heart design with brown and gold /burnt orange mini

orchids with chocolate organza ribbon. No respectable witches

 house is complete without the obligatory spiders webs and witches

 brooms - giant spiders and webs galore including the prized

 Ruby Slippers of no other than Dorothy!
